Training

Tedopres offers training courses to teach technical writers and engineers how to write in clear and concise English. The training comprises lots of hands-on training, focusing on solutions to common problems.

The training takes 2-3 days, depending on customer requirements, background of writers and previous exposure to controlled language.

The training is conducted by one of our experienced instructors. Typically training is conducted on-site, but can also take place at other locations. We also offer on-line courses.

If there are any specific requirements it is possible to adapt the course to meet them.

Subjects

Introduction Simplified Technical English / Controlled Authoring
Introduction and brief historic overview of the standard, outlining the benefits of implementation. For aerospace and defense companies the training will be focused on the Simplified Technical English specification ASD-STE100. For other industries the focus will be on controlled language writing rules.

Grammar Rules
Explanation of the grammar rules.

Writing rules & dictionary
Explanation of the writing rules, including which words are allowed, and which words are not, sentences, procedural and descriptive writing, warnings, cautions and notes, punctuation, word counts and good writing practices.

Each session will be concluded with delegates practicing what they have learned using exercises.

Workshop
All delegates are asked to bring their own material that will be rewritten individually and discussed as a group.
